Ah, Christmas time again. It's hard on a lot of people. For some it's because they have no family, for others, it's because there's too much family all at once. A lot of people are wondering what it's really all about. Honestly, the timing, the decorations and the hoopla have nothing to do with Christ. They're a bunch of pagan festival ideas and traditions that the Church used to make their version of reality easier to swallow for the savages. Tradition is added onto tradition, and habits become traditions too until all the original ideas and meanings are obscured. When was Jesus born in real life? Most people say it was probably April. There really was a manger and shepherds, the wise men came later when Jesus was a little older. The tree, pagan. The lights, pagan. The gift giving, pagan. The ornaments, pagan. Santa Clause? Blame Dutch traditions and Coca Cola for that. So, what does Christmas mean? A. It's a time of year when it's really dark out. B. A bunch of Catholics back in ancient history decided it was a good way to sell an idea by incorporating pagan festivals. C. Commercialism

The SPCA visit

I went to the SPCA here in Hamilton today to see what was going on regarding dogs needing a home. There were a few there that looked interesting, a couple Terriers. The lady there said these kinds of dogs are a bit hyper and more active than say, a Shitzu. The other problem was the dogs were antisocial with other animals, which could get interesting. I think I'd like to investigate further and see what comes up over the next month or so. Anyways, on Tuesday, I'm going to Dunnville to visit with Mom and Dad for a week. I'll discuss the whole deal with them and see what they say. So, this is one of the dogs I found.... his name is Corbin. A Jack Russell Terrier about 8 years old. What do you think?

Skipper

I've been babysitting my parent's dog (Skipper) for the last 5 weeks, he's a shitzu/pug cross. Anyway, the folks took him home with them yesturday and I miss the little mutt. How did this happen? I've never been so emotional over a dog before... It's like every time I turn around, I expect the little guy to be standing there looking at me with his big brown eyes and funny little furry face. I even miss his jumping up on the tv every time there's a bit of action of a dog on the screen. On a side note... Man, are there ever a lot of dogs on TV! They're in commercials, movies, sitcoms, drama shows etc. I think there's more dogs on the tube than t and a. Who knew?

Strange Weather...
Being a native of the west coast, I find the weather lately to be quite fascinating. Here I am in southern Ontario where it's above zero and raining... no snow. Yet, on the "sunny and warm" west coast, there's over a foot of snow and bitterly cold temps. I'm starting to wonder if the global warming people have it wrong. I have read an article recently that the scientists who are "promoting" the idea of global warming are being selective in their choices of data which they base their findings on. Maybe they're in "it" for the hype and the money. There's a hidden agenda behind todays news and headlines... but what is it? What could they possibly want? Is there some money to be found in telling everyone they have to buy new cars that are energy efficient or that all the factories have to be revamped in order to cut down emissions? Does the "oil" industry agree with this plan, or are they the ones who are behind the debunking of the "global warming" theory?

No Way
I got a notice today that I owe some money to the tune of $10,000. I have never run up that much debt in my life, and now this collection agency says I owe this? I have no idea what to do about this. For one thing, I'm not going to pay it... as far as I'm concerned, I don't owe it. I think I'd remember if I owed some credit card 10 grand... not to mention, the highest limit I've ever had on a credit card is $500. Should I call the number and explain this to them (and thereby give them my phone number and get harrassed 24/7) Or, can I ignore it and maybe it'll go away? I think, no matter what I do, my "credit" will be trash from now on. Not that it's good now, but I do have a credit card now and I always pay it off every month. Does that stand for anything? What about my cable, telephone and internet bills that I pay faithfully every month, not to mention the rent on my apartment? I think, instead of doing nothing, I'm going to ask for some advice. I'll keep you posted on what advice I get. Oh happy day!
